Our story
Fine woodworking traditions. Commercial discipline.
Since 1977
Beauty in the world, one precisely built interior at a time.
Akira began as a two-person shop grounded in Japanese and European fine woodworking. Work in custom homes, historic restoration and commercial construction steadily expanded the scale of the practice.
In 1982, Akira reproduced 203 legislative desks for the Old Florida Capitol. That commission led to major corporate headquarters work and helped establish the company in premium architectural woodwork. The tools and scale have evolved; the commitment to artisan quality has not.

A defining commission
The Old Florida Capitol furnishings
Akira reproduced the chamber desks and later completed the Speaker’s desks, railings, clerk’s benches and Supreme Court Justice’s benches.

The team
Experience that lives in the work.
Long-tenured woodworkers, engineers, project managers, finishers and installers carry quality through every phase.
